Bhavya Rehani, MD is the Founder, CEO and President of Health4theworld. She is a Harvard trained neuroradiologist currently practicing at UCSF. She is passionate about using technology for good and has led multiple projects as CEO of Health4theworld. Health4theworld recently won the Tech Start Up of the Year Silver American Business Stevie Award.

She is a contributor to Thrive Global and Linkedin, a keynote speaker and has been featured in SF business times, Forbes, ABC and other news media. She has won multiple awards,has close to 30 publications and 40 national and international conference presentations, is a Diplomat of American Board of Radiology and is an invited member of Quantitative Biosciences Institute Women Initiative at UCSF in association with United Nations (UN) women.

FROM RURAL INDIA TO THE SILICON VALLEY: HOW HEALTHCARE NEEDS MOTIVATED A PERSON TO CREATE AN AWARD WINNING NON-PROFIT IN TECH 

While a teenager in India, Bhavya Rehani saw both her grandparents not only suffer strokes, but also the two-hour long rides to the nearest hospital that could give them adequate care.

Witnessing their pain seeded an interest and passion for medicine in Rehani that led her to become a neuroradiologist now practicing at University of California, San Francisco. Eventually, she decided to tackle the problem of getting better medical care to rural areas around the world as CEO, President and co-founder of Health4theworld.

In the last year, Dr. Rehani has expanded the organization to 22 countries starting from one country. The organization’s mission is to promote health in resource-poor communities worldwide through education and technology, and has helped 3500 lives thus far.

Dr. Rehani has led the creation of The Health4TheWorld Stroke Mobile Application, which helps patients and families affected by Stroke for post-stroke rehabilitation exercises at home, communicate in-spite of speech difficulties, manage their health parameters to prevent another stroke, and staying mindful and positive with a conversational chatbot. It has been designed by leading experts in stroke care and patients suffering from stroke, whom she recruited. It has been translated in multiple rare languages like Swahili, Nepali, Filipino customizing to local needs in these communities. It has been prescribed and downloaded more than 1000 times in twenty-two countries.

She has spearheaded the soon to be released Health4TheWorld Education Platform “Health4TheWorld Academy”, which represents potentially the largest online education platform to educate doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, and allied healthcare professionals in low-resource settings.

In the last year, more than 100 live workshops have been done to teach health care professionals in low resource settings and attendees have registered a 70% improvement in test scores between pre and post tests.

She leads a 100% volunteer-driven team of more than 100 from leading experts in US to doctors, and nurses in remote communities; from software experts to engineers. All the services provided by Health4TheWorld are free-of-cost focusing on local needs, and are available in local languages.

Health4theworld also won the Tech Start Up of the Year Silver Stevie American Business Awards under services category in 2018.
